blog rage and duran duran

i suffered a slight case of blog rage last night.

i slaved over a post for 45 minutes- it was the perfect balance of humor and tragedy (too much mayo), and then tragedy took the lead- blogger ate my post. as you can imagine, i was far from thrilled. in fact, i think i may have thrown something. (it was NOT comforting to see the "reassuring" error message stating that blogger higher-ups would be notified of this error, either.)

perhaps, if i'm feeling up to it tonight, i'll try to recreate the post.

i woke up in a better mood this morning- especially after hearing duran duran will be in charlotte three days after my birthday.

that's enough for now- if this joins last night's post, currently floating around some mysterious internet black hole, i don't want to have wasted too long on its construction.........

Any other suggestions for your birthday?

I always copy my post just before hitting the publish button (not to anything) and then I can paste it if I need to.

yep, duran duran's coming to dc as well. however, i don't think mama would be too happy with me if i got tickets for the concert instead of having the remainder balance paid off for ireland. so, you'll have to let me know how the concert goes.

right before i hit "publish", i thought to myself, "i should probably save this somewhere."

next time, i'll listen instead of trusting that my post will actually make it onto the page.

another lesson (possibly) learned the hard way.

Did you try the recover post link that blogger supplies. It totally worked when I lost a post.

i would use that helpful tool, except (you might want to sit down before reading on) i have windows 95 on my personal computer, and the "recover post" link doesn't show up. in fact, when i post from my computer, i generally avoid using links, because i can only compose in html, and i'm too lazy to try and remember the proper coding for all that stuff.

so, now i try to remember to copy and paste when necessary.

thanks for the suggestion, though.

I figured there was probably a reason you didn't use the recover post thing. Thought I'd mention it anyway on the off chance you didn't.
