you know how sometimes you're in a public bathroom, doing something particularly unladylike, and someone else walks in, and suddenly, you panic? i mean, there you were, minding your own business, suffering through the zesty cuisine you had the evening before (i mean really- it didn't smell like that the night before.), and suddenly there's a witness to your dastardly deeds. suddenly, you're faced with a terrible dilemma- something i like to call "the clash complex"- as in, "should i stay, or should i go?"
do you make a run for it while the other person is attending to matters of their own, or do you just sit there until you hear them wash their hands (one hopes) and leave?
for once, dear readers, it was the other person who was hiding...not i.

that's not always a good sign...
they hid in there so long that i was starting to wonder if maybe it was one of my male cowrokers who'd wandered into the wrong bathroom. i didn't care enough to stick around long enough to find out.
That must be a girl thing. As guys, we know that when you're in a restroom it's going to stink and you may be a contributor. No shame here!
wait. hell, i did it at some random rest stop tonight after some chinese that apparently wanted to vacate my system very quckly. Unfortunately, the other women in the restroom decided to chat it up until the fumes from my stall got to be too strong. (oh yes, there was commenting when it tickled their nostrils.) I then had to wait an extra couple minutes in hopes they wouldn't be just outside the door and notice it was me.
LOL...I've been that situation before...been in LOTS of public restrooms due to being on the road in a truck. Truck stop food can be iffy sometimes.
Personally, I've done both things...made a beeline out the door while they were doing their bidness, and waited for a person to finish washing and leave!
I had a comment all picked out for this. Then I decided I get into enough poop conversations as it is.
I had something like that happen to me when I was in highschool - though I was in the position of the "witness" as was a friend of mine:
We're in the washroom and on one wall is a series of stalls. I'm on the outside of the stall wandering around the empty corner waiting for my friend to finish.
There just happens to be another person in another stall.
All of a sudden, my friend goes " My god, what did you (to make the room smell like that?"
And I told her that I did nothing - in fact I thought it was she who released the stenched.
It was only after she exited the washroom stall that we realized it was really neither one of us. In fact, it was the one who was still in the stall - listening to us.
