okay- i'm on just for a moment at the visitor information center in carleton, prince edward island, where we're trying to figure out the location of two elusive metal potatoes. (long story)......so far, we've gotten four blank looks, the information guru helping us has been laughed at by at least one of his counterparts on the northern portion of the island, and (breaking news here) now we've been told that there "might be something in the sand dunes" at a location i didn't catch. oh boy.
in other potato news, i now know what poutine is ("where are you from anyway? i've never met anyone who didn't know what it was", said our waitress last night.), and we've purchased several bags of "lobster flavored" potato chips (a delight sure to please the palate.)
oh, and you know my last good pair of jeans? perhaps i should not have worn them today, as there was an unnerving splitting noise as i hopped up onto the statue in front of cows.

Lobster-flavored potato chips?? I love lobster, but I'm not too sure that sounds good. You'll have to tell us all how they taste.
Isn't poutine french fries with gravy on them? Am I close?
that reminds me of the time when we visited grandma in lawrence as children and we went to the one playground with the rocket ship slide. I was playing on the cheese wedge and tore my favorite shorts on it...and i thought I had that memory nicely repressed.
Now what kind of statue was it? I should hope a place called Cows at least has a statue of cows. You're going to share those pictures, right? A picture of you riding a cow is probably enough to get you entered in the Miss Wisconsin pageant, residency requirements be damned.
Poutine is Fries with gravy and cheese.
Lobster flavored chips. EWWWW!!
Sorry about the rip.
Fries with gravy and cheese? Good lord! What the hell is wrong with you people??
Fries with gravy, cheese, AND chilli, washed down with a super-sized coca-cola classic, and with a side of funnel cake. 12,520 calories never tasted so good!
Hope you're having fun, Duff... In fact, have enough fun for me, too, yeah?
You should try it sometime Digi. It is SO YUMMY.
That sounds awesome. The poutine, not the lobster flavored chips. I love lobster, but potatoe chips, I just don't know.
the poatatoes were a bust. we checked out several beaches at prince edward island national park (i hope i got that right), to no avail. we found a rotary at one of the beaches- i think the potatoes may have been there. (i guess they have a right to move things around after 11 years, but it was still a bit of a disappointment to come up empty-handed.)
but at least i have five glorious bags of lobster chips.
p-o-t-a-t-o-e-s
i can type, really.
Oh, man. Now I'm craving funnel cake. Thanks a LOT, LB!!
Hope you had a great time, Duff. We want pictures!!
