while walking past our news radio station, i just heard that peter jennings succumbed to lung cancer yesterday. i wonder if dead or alive has updated yet.

ReplyDeleteI was shocked last night when I saw that he had passed. It just seems so soon after we all heard about his illness, but cancer's a bitch, I guess.
ReplyDeleteI never really had a specific evening news that I watched, but I will never forget how remarkable he was when he was broadcasting from New York on 9/11. On one of the truly scariest days I can remember, it was comfort to watch his newscast.
i posted about this too ... i grew up watching him ... he was always so smooth, unruffled, calm and always spoke in such soothing tones. he was a great journalist ... you just felt like you could trust him no matter what ...
